I have been many times, it is a very good sale. You won't see any sorry sights as the sale is very strictly run. Probably be a lot of nice horses and ponies there tomorrow as first one this year. My friend has bought two coloured driving cobs there, neither were cheap, one was top lot of the day but they have both turned out to be excellent horses.
Wish I was going tomorrow......maybe next month.
Oh thanks , glad of that dont want to be tempted to buy something because i feel sorry for it ! Looking for irish eventer type or smart wh cob , what sort of price do these sorts go for do you know ?
How did you get on? Leominster has a good reputation. A lot of horses and ponies come out of Wales, as the vendors often don't want to bother with private buyers.
Yeah it was a really good experience , a lot of rubbish but a few quite smart horses. Just couldnt believe how cheap everything goes for !! Barely anything made over a grand. Was so tempted to buy this lovely 5 yo irish horse which only went for 1k , was sad to see such a nice horse go for such a low price . Would deffinately go again though , think were off to malvern horse sales in march with the lorry this time as a lot of people there said there are more sport horse types which is what im after.
Yes Mavern is nearly all sport horses and hunters with the odd cob and pony thrown in. Another good quality sale, prices are higher but you can still pay a lot less than private.
I may go to Malvern in March, not so far as Leominster for me.
