Hi all

I am hoping to go to Leominster sales on Friday, looking for a cob yearling, can anyone recommend a horse transporter over that way in case I do find something suitable? Hubby can't come and I cant drive the trailer!

Going back to north Cotswolds, stow, bourton, moreton in marsh area...

Thanks in advance

http://wemoveanyhorse.com/ These people are very near to Leominster and I would wholeheartedly recommend them. They are very kind with the horses and nice people too.

There are a few transporters locally, have a look on Hereford Equestrian site.

Also, there are always people at the sales who will transport horses, the auctioneers will normally help you find someone who might be going your way.

I'd be interested to see how you get on at the sales, as I am considering going to one in near future (next couple mths) to look at picking up a 2/3 yr old cobby type.

Could you tell me what prices are like?

Good luck too on the hunt :D

Bought my 2 little ones from Leominster, didn't take any transport as wasnt supposed to be buying! Asked some of the people there and they suggested a few different people and pointed them out to us, really easy they said just come and tell them when we were ready to go, how much it would be etc but I am south of Hereford so it wasn't a massive journey! If I remember rightly it was £50 for 2 ponies to be taken 30 miles?

The average price at Leominster was £500, but not sure if its still that way.

I am only looking for a yearling HW cob to make 14.2, prefer a filly though so we will see... I really want to go but was a bit put off about how to find transport but looks like it will be fine, and £50 for 30 miles is pretty good I think, I am 60 miles away so would happily pay £100-£150 no problem.

those of you that have been recently, do you think its likely I can find a decent HW cob yearling? to make at least 14.2

I went a few years ago so was hoping its still the same...
