He is going to run a clinic near were I live in the USA, and I have a spot reserved. I need to pay in the near future if I am going to attend and it is not cheap. Obviously I know who he is and his achievements, I just wondered if anyone had trained with him or done a clinic and had an opinion?

Thanx

i was a working pupil with him, and i agree with Thistle. however, he may have improved over there in the u.s.a....!

have you ever seen a horse going xc with him with its ears pricked and what i think of as "a smile on its face"...? just a thought.

I watched one of his lecture demos on tv the other day, and tbh I'm glad I didn't pay money to go and watch him in the flesh! JMO though, he has obviously achieved some great things but I think there are better trainers out there.

I went to a lecture demo at Oldencraig a few months ago. We got free tickets and tbh I was very glad I hadn't paid. He's obviously very knowledgable but isn't very good at explaining things or engaging the audience.

There are far better people to go and see imo.

Yes slightly different point - but I agree with you too. The best riders treat all their horses as individuals and set the pace of training accordingly. There are those riders that just set the pace fast - and I am not just referring to their speed XC - but their whole training plans....I prefer the tailored approach rather than one size fits all...

Thanx for the info, I'm certainly going to think about it as there is a Will Faudrey (not sure of spelling) clinic as well. I watched one of his and I was very impressed, so I might go to him instead.
