No lessons for months and I have two in three days!!

First up on Sunday was with Partoow, one of the most enjoyable and full of information I just tried to obsorb like a sponge.

Today I had a lesson with Nicola McGivern for Horse Magazine in Great Missenden.
I was a little unsure how it was going to go mainly because of the weather reports were issueing warnings of flooding and gale force winds

Madmare, my mum, Paddy and I set off at 9:30 onto the motorway.
It wasnt as bad as expected and we arrived in plenty of time.
Arriving at the gates we had to announce are arrival and the gates opened.
Driving in, OMG!!! everything was stone paving with a HUGE indoor school, Whitaker lorry etc.... I felt very underdressed.
A very kind lady came to meet us and showed us around, to the toilets and grabbed us a cup of coffee.
The tackroom and toilets, you just wouldnt believe it, it was out of this world!! everyone was so neat and tidy, and very friendly.
The yard was super, the stone paving was swapped for rubber flooring which was identical to the paving, so completely matched everywhere.
I just couldnt take it all in, 4 solariums full of fans etc too. I didnt want to leave.
The indoor school is the spitting of Addingtons new indoor, but had leather seating and heat lamps, they even had pastries a coffee for us

Snoop behaved perfectly and we started the lesson. He neighed to himself when he caught his reflection in the mirrors.
But he buckled down and we had a really good session.
The whole experience was just flipping amazing, Nicola is the most down to earth person! and very friendly. They even had "treat" dishes on the side full of sugar lumps for the horses!!!
Anyway, took a few very good tips from the lesson and along with Partoows information I am completely buzzing with information and cant wait to get out there and really start working.

We arrived home all safely too the wind had dropped and rain stopped and the sun even tried to break through

Thanks for reading.

Great two days then.
I bet you are really pinging now and can't wait to compete.
We are off to Richard Davison tomorrow, for lesson that she won,he is VERY expensive.
She went there yesterday to have her secondhand wow fitted so at least she knows the way.
Aren't lessons the best thing ever.

Wow!! Sounds incredible! Cor the lessons must have been absolutely fab..I bet Snoopy thought that he had 'arrived' at last!!Lol...did you take any pics?

"Treat dishes" indeed. It is a wonder Snoopy got back into your lorry again after exposure to that sort of luxury. Did you not catch him looking back longingly when you were boxing him to take him home to "normalsville".

Sounds like a brill day.

When do we get to see pics or an article??

Thank you guys

*sigh* may see if i can take stills off it tho.
Dunno when the artical will come out.
Nicola said Snoopy was more than welcome to stay, I think he had a fan
smirk.gif

I tell ya I dont think I have EVER seen anything like her yard before! completely spotless and with every detail thought of... amazing.
I think youre right, I think Snoopy thought *this is where I belong* however, he seems pretty pleased to be home with his mate Winston again

Off for more Partoow this weekend, this time its FinnMc and Winstons turn, Im just going to go and obsorb more info

Wow, that is my idea of a dream stable. I guess I need to win the lottery. LOL at Snoops neighing to himself! My horse Harv used to do that too, but in people's windows as we rode through the village. Often stopped dead in the street to look at himself too!

The Nationals 2012 perhaps!
After having these two sessions I now realise we have a long long way to go, me more than him.
ARGH just wish I could afford more regular lessons

*stamps feet*
But I realise what a lucky BBs I was, and it was great to be back training properly again.
BTW, Im gonna book a holiday over with you guys, once youve got settled in

Giggles! Im quite pleased S doesnt do the stopping in the street, mind you I wouldnt put it past him.

Forget the lottery, you need to win Euro Millions to afford a set up like hers!!

Massive 25th birthday bash coming up in April (also house warming and S' birthday, all rolled into one!)!

Out of interest, do you think you would go back to Nicola? If it was your money rather than Horse Mag's?

I have never seen a setup like that before. OMG the indoor was amazing. I was ready for the usual watching a lesson while your blood slowly turns to ice and your hands go a fetching purple from cold. Not there! Leather seats and heatlamps! WOW. And the tack cleaning area - everything was leather, mahogany and brass. With huge heaters keeping things cozy. It was soooo horrible coming home to ride in my rather damp outdoor splashing through puddles and washing off my horse's mucky legs with cold water, before mucking out my own stable.......just off to do the lottery LOL.

April.... please dont be the National weekend, as its FinnMc hen weekend.....

Yeah, I think I probably would. Like with everyone, you take away little snippets from each lesson I think.
I liked her relaxed approach, and she immediately put you at ease, liked that.

Our new purpose built Equestrian Centre is now complete. Located within 160 acres of the beautiful Great Missenden countryside in Buckinghamshire, we are now taking reservations for both livery and training placements for this superb facility, which has some 25 boxes, international size indoor arena, solariums, spa, horse exerciser and separate isolation yard

OH MY GOD !!!!!
They do livery !
How long would it take me to get there from Guildford - I only see my horse about once a week - maybe I could sleep in a spare stable - sure its similar to the local 5* !

What a great day, did you not ask if she'd like to adopt you and Snoops? Can't wait to see the article.

Btw when I first met Nicola a long time ago, she was just starting out doing dressage on - gasp - a part-Cleveland Bay, when I was doing stuff on William. We used to swap notes. She then got engaged and her fiance bought her a 3 horse Oakley for an engagement present - oh and a huge rock, obviously! Now where exactly did I go wrong....?
