I had my session with Damien Hallam yesterday.
I hadnt heard of him before, but was assured he was worth a go.
Snoopy loaded fabulously, first time in a box since Munstead. FinnMc drove as my lorry is with the mechanic so Snoop had to go into a strange lorry as well.
Its only 5 miles from my yard to my old yard so we left in plenty of time and arrived unflustered.
It was blowing a gale and the black plastic protecting the bales of straw/hay was blowing and very scary! but not to snoop!
He stood on the lorry for 20 minutes let me tack him up without too much drama

and I hopped on.
He marched into the indoor school, which is very spooky and dark, but bold as brass was a good boy and warmed up.
The other horse left and it was our turn.
Damien immediately picked up on snoopy throwing me to the outside and made me ride with all my weight to the inside. We also drift a lot on the left rein I also hollow my hack and hold my hands too high.
So that was all sorted. Snoop had to be super soft and he was very very good.
Into canter he was much more difficult to hold together because his canter is so huge! but we mastered it

We then worked on test riding keeping him poll high, soft and in self carriage. For the first time I felt i was riding a proper dressage horse

Verdict! Damien is a fab trainer, he insisted on perfection, nearly WASNT good enough!
He was on my case the whole time reminding me and asking me questions which ring in my ears the whole time now, which is ideal for when i go home and practise on my own.

So if you get a chance to have a lesson with Damien, GO FOR IT
