Has anyone had a lesson with Mary King, I just wanted to see if anyone has had a lesson with her. What was she like, was the lesson good and did you get a lot out of it. I might be able to have a lesson with her, but its really expensive so would like peoples thoughts before I book.
I have had a few xc lessons over intro level, just wondered what she is like with people who are new/ not much experience of xc riding?
Thanks

I would love to have a lesson with her... but actually have no idea what she is like as a trainer... veryimpressed with her atitude and riding... Lucky you...

her lecture demos are very good! i think she would be a gd teacher, if her demos are any thing to go by!

I love her to bits, such a great ambassador for the sport & a really nice person.

I saw her give a bit of a lesson some years ago at a demonstration & she was really good & obviously knows loads. I honestly think though that unless you are at a fairly high level then you can get just as much out of lessons with a lesser known trainer & for a fraction of the price.

I think she's at Bishop Burton doing clinics with RC people this weekend. Maybe one of them might do a report on here?

I had a xc lesson with her at hoplands on a tricky mare that rushed at the rate of knots into her fences, and had a tendency to slam the brakes on and rear infront of the fences...mary was really helpful, and a kind, encouraging instructor. I had evented up to novice BE but the mare hadn't done much at all before this.

I used to train with Mary - she is AMAZING to learn from.

Firm, no nonsense but kind and gentle and patient!

If you have the chance go for it, you'll love it

Thanks, I have always thought that she was a great rider and seems to be a really nice person. But sometime the best riders dont make good teachers, I think it I can get booked on a lesson I will give it a go

Not had a lession but I did go to a talk\lecture.

She was really great, most of it consisted of her showing vieos of her falling off over fences and explaining what she did wrong to hit the dirt. Really informative and funny, one clip of her falling in a water jump got shown about 10 times!

She seams really down to earth, her daughter competes locally and has a lovely 'hairy' pony that she bombs round novice hunter trials on.

I can imagine a lesson would be brill.

Mary was up here in the north east last weekend doing lessons and lecture demo.

I have to say she was fab to watch. I didn't have a lesson but knew some of the people who did and the feedback was excellent.

She took loads of time to answer questions both during the lecture and afterwards too.

I have always liked Mary but after seeing her I think she is wonderful, professional and a marvellous horsewoman.
