Lessons while I can't ride

While I can't ride perhaps I could improve my riding? Please have a look at the photos on the 4th and 5th lines down (the black and white cob) and give your pointers for improvement. I can tell you later what the judge said if you want to know! photos

Ahhh that made no sense! If you cant ride then how can you improve your riding!

Well - I can mentally improve so that I can put it into practice when I can ride?

The thing that strikes me most is your saddle is too far forward, which means that you are forced to sit on your hands as there is nowhere else to put them. I would put the saddle back a bit and try to carry your hands a little more independently from the rest of your body. You should be aiming for a fairly straight line from the bit to your elbows.
I love the last one of you trotting - he is really moving!

Not gone out yet! and I agree with you - Its hard to get his saddle in the right position and the back lady thinks that one is making him sore so hopefully a new one is winging its way to me today. I do seem to carry my hands too low and have been trying to lift them!

I agree with FMM about the saddle being too far forward, you may find that it will be easier to sit up more when you are further away from his withers. Nice pics.
