Had a couple with Rob Whitaker when I was working up there and he was pretty useless, but the ones I got with John were so helpful I wonder what I did before them!!
Lucinda came to our place (eek!), many years ago, i'm on rescued pony, rest of group on nice horses, she gave me lots of confidence that i + old pony could do it, + we did. Others, er, didn't. What i remember is how encouraging she was, + i still abide by the 'legs forward, look up, stay behind movement' (got me out of a few sticky things in later years!) Lovely lady. X
Geoff was brill. He taught total novices struggling over x-poles (while i'm questioning why RC doesn't weed em out, for a trainer of his calibre), then he got likes of me, then moved on to more serious. I watched all. What i enjoyed most were his (private + very funny) quips to me about the most serious!! (I was once offered a job on his yard, after he approached my boss for an AI, many moons ago, but he didn't remember me.) He was so funny, yet knew so much X
With greatest respect for the 2 'greats' i've had lessons with, BS x
I am having a lesson today with someone who trained with Chris Bartle which doesn't really count does it?
Doesn't stop me being excited though!
I have had a lesson with Geoff Billington, which was ok. Normally have lessons with Angie Bell, who is not Olympic but still very good, very nice person too and always have a laugh with her (ok, mostly at my expense, but I am funny to watch!!)
