Not horsey but
can we all raise a glass to those who have fought for our country both past and present and wish them all a safe trip home. And also a toast to all the families who have lost a loved one.
xx

Agreed,
RIP to all the men & women who lost their lifes defending our country.

Just had 2 minutes silence in the office watching the news, almost felt weepy watching all the people in Trafalgar Square etc.
And the little boy on the news after...so sweet x

Completely !!

It gets me everytime - we have to say thank you to everyone whose lives changed through war to defend our futures ! Not just ww1 but those who served our nation up to the present day.

My Mum and Dad both served, in Bosnia and the in Falklands, my cousin has done 2 tours of Afganistan and 1 of Iraq - they have all retured home safely , for that I am very lucky!

indeed you are ladylina and from a tue military family!
It also gets me this year especially so as my brother went to afghan last week so this is a bit raw this year.

I was very close to joining the navy in 2009, as I have always wanted to follow in their footsteps, Mum begged me not to dispite her background! I can't imagine what it feels like to send a child off to a war zone. back in the WW's they were just boys. very brave boys though.

Nice to see this pop up here - I lost my big brother in January 2010 in Afghanistan and my little brother has just returned; physcially fine, but mentally is not doing so well. Always amazes me how much these brave people are willing to give for their country, certainly something I'd never be willign to do. RIP my brother Capt Dan and to all the others who have made the ultimate sacrifice xxx

zoon i am so very sorry for your loss and i hope your little bro improves with time mentally, he is incredibly brave to have gone out after loosing his brother. Thoughts are with you today xx

to my great uncle who died in france 1916, age only 19 years, it may be a long time ago and i never knew you, but you are never forgotten

So sorry for your loss. I hope your little brother improves with time.

My boyfriend is doing his first tour next Spring, along with a lot of our friends...this Remembrance Day is very poignant for me. Will never forget how amazing how armed forces are.

oh Zoon.... I'm sorry. But I'd like to thank your family and all those families whose sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives are fighting or have fought for us.

I know it's posted and said everywhere at the moment, but I don't think there's a better way of saying it...

"they will never grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.

We will remember them."
