On Sunday "Manor Bluebell Boy" arrived from Ireland. He's a 6 year old 14.2hh Connemara gelding. He just walked off the lorry and went straight in his stable, settled down like he'd always been there. He's so loving and gentle :) He's very green in the school, needs a lot of work but he is very brave and willing, jumps anything you point him at.

Just arrived, checking out his new home

And this morning :) I've had words with him about stable stains and rolling in poo/mud... said i'd never buy a grey :p

Nobody can decide on a name, I wanted something Irish at first and have been calling him Owen. Thought I might show him under the name Oberon, its a bit difficult to shout up the field though! and I can't say "Obi" without someone muttering "wan Kenobi" ! Suggestions welcome, but Owen may stick now!

Thanks everyone :) He is lovely, hoping to hunt him when he's ready- he's super brave so think he'll do well! Won't be for a while though, need to him more balanced in the school.

I still have one dun :) My other Connemara went to a new (and more suitable!) home. As lovely as he was, he was very slow and steady and is now living just down the road with a lady who wanted a steady, reliable, family pony to keep forever :) Have been to see him and he's very happy ! I'm hoping after a bit of work my sister could take him hunting with me, as she normally rides the dun mare who's brakes fail. I didn't think of Ronnie, that works quite well, shamrock is nice too- don't know why I didn't think of that! I will write them down and think about it tomorrow :) He seems to love my coloured, who is normally a bit of a loner :p so i'm not sure he appreciates being followed around !

Absolutely love Connies, mine is a very deep, sensitive character but I wouldn't swap him for anything....Good luck and enjoy him, beautiful, loyal wonderful horses xxx

I seem to be very lucky with what I buy! They've all taken a lot of work though. Didn't view him, saw a few videos, had a few phone calls with the person selling him, and took a risk to be honest! Keeps life interesting ;)

You seem to be doing something right, they all look lovely :biggrin3: Is he to keep?
