A warning for anyone who muck-picks & has a horse who just loves to knock it over!! My 2yr old nearly bled to death after implaing himself on the handle of the wheelbarrow. The wound was high up between his sheath & inside hind leg, & the blood just poured out. This pony is relatively unhandled & you cannot just walk up to him & get a headcollar on, so you can imagine the horror of the situation. Thanks to my fleece & my neighbour & sister all helping, I put pressure on the wound (pony Is by now shaking & sweating,) the vet arrived & pony is now OK. But, be warned, try to stay as close as possible & discourage those inquistive ones who think the wheelbarrow is toy.

Hope pony is ok.

I shudder when I see people leaving wheelbarrows near horses. A horse I know had a freak accident with one when he was young, he managed to get his hind leg through the metal frame and damaged all the main arteries and tendons in that leg. 10 years on he has been a field ornament ever since.
