Just a big, smiley, happy post really.. there is a LOT of posts that are negative about loaning, and i agree, it can go (very) badly, but i am so proud to say, my one in a million pony has found just the best home ever, i couldnt thank them enough.
Bit of background- i had frankie given to me as an 10 month old untouched colt- que bolshy, bargy idiot of a pony... roll on 6 years later and he is just the best pony i have ever had the pleasure of riding/owning, 99% bombproof, beautiful flatwork, cracking jump and bold with it too, fabulous to hunt etc.. but unfortunately i had to come to the decision that he was just too small, although 14.1, he is very fine, so kept an eye out sneakily if anyone we knew was on the lookout for a pony- and he went to a lovely family in september last year- since then, they have gone from strength to strength, he is out hunting every week nearly, doing pony club and having so much fun, this is everything my gorgeous pony could have asked for and more, he looks to be having so much fun! so just a big thankyou to his wonderful family for making such a hard decision, one that i am glad i made :)
they have gone from strength to strength together, and her confidence seems to have grown with him-- this is them hunting at the weekend, i nearly cried looking at this photo <3

i'd love to hear of anyone else's fantastic loaners, and we can all show appreciation for them :)

thankyou, it is just such a relief that it is going so well and that he is having so much fun, i couldnt be more grateful of what they have done for him :) x

I have an amazing loaner too! I don't really get on with one of our polo ponies, I love her to death but we never really saw eye to eye. So instead of selling her I offered her to a friend of mine, and one year later she is still there! The pony, Mouse, seems very happy, and goes so much better for her new human than she ever did for me! I hope they stay together forever! She looks great, looks really happy - and I couldn't be happier :D

My tale is kinda both ways, my tb with issues went out on loan several times after it became obvious that I wasn't experienced enough for him. He had a brillaint loan home until the loaner got sick. He was quite far away so things went a bit wrong then as he went to a friend and came back a state - not the original loaners fault.
Once we had him sorted he went back on loan but much closer to home. He was with an amazing girl that I'm really good friends with now. He had a fabulous home and was doing really well. Unfortunately they had an accident which resulted in my tb being pts but it was a freak accident and the loaner was absolutly devastated as he was with her for life. In my eyes he came from a very bad situation before I got him and the time he was with the loaner he was happy and healthy and got to go galloping on the beach etc

I'm very lucky to have someone who absolutely adores my old boy and she leapt at the chance to loan him when I offered.
They both can't jump - him due to an old tendon injury and her due to knee issues - so they're perfectly suited to each other :p
