had:
enough money
6 stables all big enough for anything from ponies up to foaling
an indoor school
plenty of nice hacking
tansport for you and horse
10 acres

what would you fill it with? eg what breed of horse, age, gender, colour

would you have liveries?

would you have a groom?

would you want more then one horse?

sorry this is going on a bit now but id have a
black 16,3 friesian stallion
a mw warmblood 16.2 gelding
my mare that i have 16hh skewbald sport horse
a mare and foal
a small shire. (small as possible, less then 17hh would be nice lol)

i would have a part time groom so they were still mine alot of the time but dont have to do all the bathing. getting ready for shows and poo picking myself.

Add an all weather gallop of about 4 - 5 furlongs and I would have my three Pointers plus three liveries to help pay for the other three - can I have a horse walker as well please? Oh and a lad / ladette to help me out (as I work full-time)

of corse u can lol u dont need the liveries tho as u have enough money in this game but u could have them for company

Well I've 4 horses already so I'd almost fill the place!
A gypsey cob, welsh cob, irish sports pony and dutch warmblood.
I would love a couple more tho lol.
I'd have a fresian, I just love them, and I'd have a donkey.......................yes a donkey!!
All those memories of beach rides.....happy days :)

I'd love a groom, one particuarly fond of poo picking ;)
Liveries....2 much blooming bother, but maybe a couple of kids and there ponies to keep my daughter company :)

Wishful thinking heh??
Not really, I plan to buy land with half dozen stables next year or year after.......dont think I'll get the groom though, that really is wishful thinking ::D

I'd have all 6 Andalusians :) love them, such beautiful, gentle horses!!

someone said my mare looked a bit like she has some andalusian in her but im not sure tho

Oh I wish I had.....all done on a shoe string, and instead of holidays and consumer durables I do my hobby of amateur racing......combined with a full on day job - when I am riding out at 6am to get to work for 9am - not getting home to 7pm, it is quite demanding, then 4 children to juggle as well - good thing that one is involved - but one at Uni who costs almost as much as the horses......not easy. A gallop closer to home than 2 miles away that we can only use at lunch-times and a horse walker would help masses!!

h/w show cob
Highland Pony
Welsh D
Appaloosa
small pony for my Grandson
spare stable as one of the above would prob be in foal so would need it for foal at weaning

Would like some help and also someone to show/compete them with me.

I would have my 10 year old appy gelding (retired due to injury), my old pony (retired due to age), and my loan horse (going to retirement home due to injury).. Notice a pattern emerging? I would also have two really nice competition horses (I've only had unrideable horses for the last three years, I want to compete!!), both dressage stars but with potential to event, tb x wb types, both about 15.3hh and geldings, one dark bay with a star and one dark blue roan blanket appaloosa... One of these I would let my sister ride and compete! And lastly I would get a couple more rescue horses to fill the paddocks... I would hire a groom to pamper my retired and rescue horses!!

hmm, you never know, Andys are a very old breed, so chances are they have influenced a lot of horses out there :) coloured horses are excluded of their breeding books though :(

i knew that but she does move like one but as u say u never know. her passport says sport horse which as far as i know means very vague lol:p

I think id have 2 stallions, a chestnut arab and a liver chestnut HEAVY cob :)

4 mares, 2 arabs, 2 cobs

And i would breed a arab foal, a cob foal, and 2 arab x cob foals a year :)

And a welsh sec a stallion and 2 mares to live out with a massive shelter!

I would clone my girl a few times over and then have a spare box for her foal and one for a grand prix schoolmistress in bay!!!!!

Definitely a groom and can I have an on site vet, back person and farrier, so no need to book them and wait or have the not turning up trick!

The four we have, which are 14.3 retired piebald cob mare, 16.3 ID cross (sisters horse) 14hh native/cob mare (friends pony) and the 15.3 Appy mare (mine) and would add two more appy's, both mares, both loud spots please :D A mucker out rather than a groom please and can I have an indoor school please? The rain and cold wind get a bit much sometimes!

I'd have my 2 boys (obviously)
A dartmoor stally
A coloured or appy mini stally
A TB
and A shetty or welshi (or something lil) for my neice.

Don't mind on colours (other than the mini...) but they'd have to all be geldings as i'm not really that keen on mares and could keeps the stallys whole woth out worring about accidents :p...tho 'accidents' could be fun.

No liveries, Maybe a part time groom for show days.

As long as I have a nice school and off road hacking i'm happy.

And if we're talking endless money i'll have shaving beds please. :D lol

had:
enough moneyhmmmm, I have a healthy mortgage. We were lucky enough to move onto a trotting farm.
6 stables all big enough for anything from ponies up to foaling check
an indoor school in the offing
plenty of nice hacking check - but better if you trailer away a bit
transport for you and horse check
10 acres check

what would you fill it with? eg what breed of horse, I have lots. I like my Paints and QH's, but also have a Morgan, an Arabian, a mini and some crossbreds
age, newborn - 20's
gender, All of them
colour Paints and palominos by preference and design

would you have liveries? I do

would you have a groom? Why? I don't keep horses actually in my stables! :)

would you want more then one horse? hmm, that goes with having space:o With Boarders and my own I have 23 horses today, the population is floating

QUOTE]

I also have a half mile oval gallop and a straight sand 5 furlongs, that's normal though, I live in the heart of trotting country, every other farm has oval tracks.

i'd have......my 16hh WBx ID Mare
my daughters 22 yr old 11h Sec A
The Haflinger x yearling my friend is trying to sell who may end up at the sales soon :(
I'd save a box for my daughters next pony when she out grows her Sec A (Hopefully a NF about 13.2hh!)
Maybe a coloured cob youngster for me

I would only have 1 livery who is a good friend that i know wouldnt get on my nerves! and she'd be great company for hacking!

I wouldnt have a groom as i wouldnt have to work so i would be quite happy doing it all myself! and i know my 1 livery would help me out if i was ill or whatever and vice versa!

Oh what a lovely dream!!!!

I would have to build 2 more stables just to fit mine in :o :D I have a 14.1hh mini TB type, 13hh Welsh/Haflinger, 13.2hh N.Forest, 13.1hh N.Forest/Exmoor, a 3yo mini, an 18yo mini and her 2 babies, a yearling and the foal who is 8 weeks old today :)

I would have
My boy
Two Highland brood mares
A dressage pony
A rescue companion as company when riding with one of the other ridden ponies.

A groom to do the heavy work.

Jane

What would you fill it with? Welsh Cobs :D A buckskin stallion, Chestnut mare and Black Mare. Phillip and a big dappled grey ID gelding for me :D I'd also have a been there, done that section C for my niece and nephew.

Would you have liveries? Possibly

Would you have a groom? Nope!

Would you want more then one horse? Yes

Hmmm, I think I could manage to fill six stables with adequate funds!

I'd have:
An Andalusian for hubby as he has always wanted one
An Arab for me because I've always wanted one
A sports horse for me to compete and so on
A native for my nephew, who is just off the lead rein to progress on and ultimitely do pony club with
One stable would be reserved for the purposes of "rescuing" hubby's favourite riding school horse and giving him a relaxing fun life (not that he is that hard done by but he's a smashing little horse).
Then I think the last one I would let my sister use for free in return for help with the others, and I think she'd probably fill it with a large native, or a coloured cob. Something with pony personality, lots of hair and a fun attitude.

They would mainly be mares, as I prefer mares and so does my sister. Also I'd love to breed my own foal one day.

Fantastic game!!!

I wouldn't have liveries - I am antisocial and my experience from livery yards is that the majority of horse owners are mad - excepting me obv!!!

I would have our two girls. In a couple of years I would like the older one to have a foal (she is cbxtb and I would put her to a cb). My other girl is an irish heinz and is brilliant, she is a 16hh pony who is loads of fun! For the other three stables I'm not sure! Maybe a nice mw hunter for my oh to hunt through the winter, and hack the rest of the year. I would like a baby to bring on, so something about 2, full ID mare, would like a grey really. Would leave the other stable free for any heart string pullers!! Perhaps a tb as I love their sensitive personalities.

Would put a few xc fences around the land, and would have the grazing set out in a paddock paradise type set up.

I would have a heated tack room and a warm water wash off stall, with heat lamps over.

I think I would like someone around to help with poo picking, mucking out and helping with putting jumps up etc.

My house would be on site too, and I would have a garden where I could sit and look over the herd.

The above would be heaven, shall work on winning the lottery so I can realise it!!

I would have:

My elderly Pony (biggest stable, heat lamp, underfloor heating)
a yellow dun highland
a percheron
a lippizanner
an Arab (the jump anything, go anywhere type)

Yes, I would have a groom/handyman
Probably not have any liveries but would welcome people using the facilities.

I would have:
My TB mare who has had to go into semi-retirement
A baby competition horse for me, aged 3 or 4 (on the lookout currently!)
A schooling livery
A 13.2 chunky monkey that anybody could ride and I could teach on a bit but would still be fun and I could compete too
Maybe another competition horse for me, I would like a dun
That's enough really!

I would also like one of those brand new 3.5 tonne lorries and to ditch my office job.
And I would like to be able to pay for OH to leave his horrible job and start his own business doing something he enjoys.

That would be all.

i would make my mare 5 instead of 14 so she could be my baby competition horse

If money were no object, I would only have my own horses in there. And what awesome horses they'd be :D

I'd have:
My 6yo ex-racer gelding that I have now

A nice, decent sized (16.3-17hh) European warmblood (IMO, they just far outclass the south african warmbloods..but meh, some of the SA ones are good too). Preferably a fairly dark bay..with dapples. Not that I'm fussy. Not worried about gender either though generally I like geldings better. This would be a high level dressage horse. Hehe.

Exactly the same as above, so a nice WB, but for SJ.

And then I'd have a younger horse like a 3yo, breed irrelevant but probably another ex-racer who I could bring on for the future.

I don't know about the other stables. Possibly a mare in foal (I'd love to breed an ISH, lovely horses, and not that common here).
And possibly a project pony either to sell on to some kid or to use in private lessons, that sorta thing.

I can't decide on this :D It's too unlikely to happen.
Yes, I'd have a groom..to help with the mucking out etc, but obviously I'd be there every day and all that jazz :)

you sound as excited as i was thinking about all this lol ive decided im going to add a 12hh native pony and a 14.2 tank type pony lol for kids and me when im lighter

See even if money was no object I would still just have my pony. It would just mean that I would be able to afford to have her at a nicer yard - one with lights would be nice :) But other than that she would continue to be the pony that she is and she would be kept in exactly the same way. I wouldn't want to have more than one horse.

And even if I ended up having my own stables and land, it would be kept solely for mine and my friends horses. I wouldn't want liveries!!! :o:p;)
As for a groom - nope I wouldn't have one. Although I would consider paying someone to poo pick my fields :)
