Pictures Let's See Your Gypsy Cobs ?

My little cobbler. 6 years old bred by Penrhiwgarn poultry with the prefix Llwyn Rhyn. Have found a few siblings but didnt get much info out of her breeders but I suspect her mum was fell and I know her dad was a chunky traditional. Shes actually quite dainty about the head and has very silky smooth hair :)

This is my boy Izzy. He is 23. I have had him since he was 11, on loan from a rescue. The rescue closed last year and they signed him over to me so he is really mine now. He has been a fantastic horse. We have had an amazing time with lots of adventures. We have competed at endurance, hunted with the bloodhounds, gone cattle mustering on Dartmoor, XC, jumping, riding camps, gymkhana, working equitation, dressage (not his fav), mounted archery, skill-at-arms. He is still ridden and jumped but takes life a bit easier these days.

The last pic is from last year.

Currently wild and woolly (I don't ride in winter) but here they are.

Trigger.JPG

Trigger. 14.3hh and around 17 years old, I've owned him for 12 years. He has a bad dust allergy which means he has to live out, so weight management is a constant fight, but otherwise fighting fit still. We just hack around the local lanes these days.

Meg.JPG

Meg. 13.2hh and around 6 years. She was an impulse buy during the first lockdown from a RS that was closing down. We'd just lost my daughters little pony and Trigger was not happy on his own, she wasn't big money so I decided to take a punt. So far she seems to be working out okay, apart from some issues with hind leg handling which I am still working on. Very quiet under saddle which is the main thing (just walking about on lead rein so far).

Here's Shyboy, 14 now, had him since a 3 year old. We just hack around our little corner of France ? Bred by David Eccles, half Dale's, half Gypsy ?

I'm not sure I want to follow this thread if you're going to post any more pictures like that, I'm feeling sickeningly jealous right now! All our hacking is icy or hock deep mud! I love your little horse though, I think he's a wonderful shape. Mine is similar but slightly bigger and less feather, so I couldn't really call him a gypsy cob.

Let's see a piccy and we can decide, gypsy cobs come in all shapes and sizes ?

Brantfell Dice (aka Gambit) - my absolute little pride and joy. I’ve owned him for 4 years at the end of the month, he’ll be 8 in May. Backed him and done everything myself, and he will turn his hoof to anything. Sadly he has PSSM but I thank my lucky stars every day that he’s pretty much asymptomatic now he’s on the right diet and exercise plan.

My fave horse is a big fat hairy coloured so I'm loving these horses.

I have my skewbald welshie x cob, he's 17 now. (Excuse the wonky clip lol)
And little piebald baby cob who's rising 6.

This article is a genuine Gypsy Cob AKA the Yak- came to me 6 years ago courtesy of the Blue Cross who took him on after he and another one were found fly-grazing and suffered ragwort poisoning.

Estimated to be 8yo when I took him on loan so prob 14 now and we live to hack (no competitive streaks in either of us). They signed him over to me 2/3 years ago and I was totally over the moon.

Probably will be joined for a slightly smaller version for my daughter to ride once we move to our own place with land later this year.

My lovely Mary-Lou. I worship the ground this girl walks on. She really is the kindest, gentlest horse you could ever hope to meet.

My beautiful pain in the backside aka Rosie :) 19years old Loves nothing more than bombing round the countryside, except in winter when it is muddy! Has arthritis in hocks, and spondylitis but she doesnt let it stop her.
Shes not a gypsy cob but was from the gypsys, so technically she is :p
This is from a couple of years ago when she was finally allowed back out after breaking her pedal bone.20190225_170849.jpg
