I finally have come to concede that the beautiful made to measure tweed I bought 11 years ago from Le Beau Cheval is too small for me and my parents have offered to buy me a replacement for my birthday (whoop, whoop)!

Currently I have a very plain dark green tweed with a navy overcheck and my horse is striking bright bay. (picture above from last year because any excuse to share Ace with the world)
I am planning to do a few HOYS Ridden Heavy Classes so it needs to look the part; I am planning on keeping the rest of the outfit the same although I have either this yellow shirt or a blue one. It isn't clear in this picture but he wears blue and yellow braids but I am thinking of changing to blue and something else this year.
Should I stay with green tweed (which I adore) or can you suggest other colours? Also, is velvet trim in or will I look like I should be on a 14.2 show pony? I'm also not 25 anymore so probably ought to go for a slightly longer jacket than this one.
I am considering going back to LBC but would happily take recommendations for other companies. I would happily buy off the peg if they're good quality.

I would say no to velvet, it looks smart but does tend to fade and with the classes you are doing probably not correct. Your jacket is very smart. I have gone for an off the peg Equetech one which I really like. It fitted perfectly. I had a lovely Alexander James one before and would use them again but this was a really good price and looks very smart. I am quite traditional despite showing a riding horse so not a lot of use on colours.

Stick with Le Beau Cheval IMO, I have had lovely tweeds from them over the years.
I would not have velvet trim for your particular class, nor for Hunters or Cobs, workmanlike is best. Ditto hair scrunchies or buttonholes.

Lovely horse!

Another who likes the one you're wearing, I'd also go for something similar again. I'm guessing they can't just let out the one you've currently got?

Well you have all confirmed what my head was telling me; get a replica of what I already have! Although @Squeak I will look into this as an option and then I can ask for a nice pair of boots with garter straps!
