A few weeks ago I contacted Weatherbys to see if they could forward a letter on my behalf to the lady who bred my horse.
I came home to a little letter in the post yesterday - it was from her!
Her writing was quite hard to read but I managed to decode it!
I'm so glad she replied to my letter, I'm hoping that she might have some photos from when he was a baby. (The ???? is where I couldn't figure out the writing!)
I do wonder how badly he 'broke down' though as he seems fine now and my vet has no concerns about him other than his cushings!
Happy vibes for everyone from me :redface3::smile3:

'Dear Jessica, I was so pleased to get your letter. I had given up on news of the horse you have now. I have been breeding a foal a year for over 30 years. I moved from the midlands over 30 yrs ago bringing up my first thoroughbred with me which I bought at Newmarket for £750. I have only had 4 mares in over 30 years. I bought his mother Miss Ritz at Newmarket as a yearling for £600. I broke her in driving her up on the moors in long reins and sent her to one trainer after another, she was raced as a 3 year old over 7f but had a problem when in season she seemed to suffer. So I got her in foal and she ran as a 4 year old winning brilliantly she was very fast but also very laid back and bit of a lovely ????He was a lovely foal and as a 2 year old went to a trainer who was a friend & trained him free of cost. I went to see him, he had been working really well but when I saw him I could see he had done too much - any how he broke down. I had no room to take him back so he went to the sales and was sold to a dealer who came back at me saying he wasn't sound. I never heard any more of him since. He was such a lovely boy when he was here. He is obviously too old to race now but he could have been a good race horse. A lot of good ????? Are fairly laid back. I still have his mother who is 24yrs. I would live to have a photo of him. If you ever come in this direction do call and see me. I am so pleased you got in touch with me. Yours, ----''
