It is critical to engine life to use high-quality SAE 15W-40 heavy-duty engine oil such as Premium Blue®, which meets API performance classification for CE or CF-4. Midrange engines require SG classification due to sliding cam followers.

I'm assuming you have a Cummins engine though, so this might be irrelevant if not!
Do you have an owner's handbook anywhere? That should give you the spec and capacity, or give a friendly mechanic or transport company fitter a call.

I've always used diesel engine oil from Morrisons. Been running my horseboxes for years on it, and never had a problem.
