In the next couple of month's i'm hoping to take my LGV C1 test, has anybody else done this, whats a rough price etc, i was thinkg it would be a good £1000 is this about right?, also i have to go for a medical how much was your?, any tip's etc would be much appreciated.

There was a post about this yeaterday i think, but anyway i did mine last year would prob not come to £1000 but will depend where you do it. Medical was £70 you have to do that 1st before you get provisional then when youve got that u can drive it with someone whose insured sitting beside you. Cant remember how much theory was £70ish maybe, where i did my training for the test it was £100 a day and i did 3 days then my test on the 4th day. Hope this helps! anymore questions just ask!

I did my LGV class C test nearly 2 years ago, it is exactly the same test and cost as the C1 so if i were you i'd do the class C so if you ever need to you can drive the big lorries too!! it cost me about £1000 plus a medical of £50 but its worth it, I did it over 4 days in exeter + had to do a theory test too. have only just come back from taking horses down to the sunshine tour!!

Im about to do my class C - same price as C1 but you can drive bigger lorries!! Mine is costing me £1200 and thats for 3days tuition from 8-3:30 and my final day from 8-10:30 and then my exam is from 10:30 until 12 (i think!) I start on friday and my exam is a week today

I did mine, however managed to get it for free by doing some bizarre NVQ!!! Such a cheat!

Anyway 4 days training, final day test. I did cat C and absolutely loved it! And now I can drive HUGGGGE trucks! I asked how much it normally costs and they said £950 for the week

Machannah do you have any details of the NVQ you did-sounds intresting as I just cant afford to pay out £1000+ to do my test at the mo!

Sorry Puggle its finished, however I was told they may do it again tho

It was called "Women in to transport" and was specifically for women wanting to go in to transporting, however most people on the course were horsey girls getting their HGV! Keep an eye out for it again, or maybe sign up for some email alerts. This article says its subsidised, but we got it for nothing and also we werent in the home counties, it seemed to be all over the country

I did mine with Machannah, I had to pay for my medial which was £50. The theory costs £35ish i think and because of the NVQ i didnt have to pay for anything else, can really recomend the company to anyone thinking of doing this in Devizes. Also go for cat C as it costs the same but lets you drive so much more!

Mine (C) is £720 for 5 days including theory materials, theory test practical test & 4.5 days tuition.

Had medical & provisional done separately to reduce cost.
