Hello and welcome. Assuming you mean the long lasting analgesic jab for dogs I'd suggest posting in the All about Dogs section of the forum, there's some very knowledgeable folk over there. :)

One of my bitches had her first injection three weeks ago and seems much happier. She has old injuries around her sacroiliac area and was getting very stiff, complaining a lot(she is very vocal). She can now get up from lying down on the floor like a young dog.

The jab has made a difference to her mobility I can't dispute that,it's the unusual behaviour that I wasn't warned about. My staffy is 13 and never had any issues with behaviour. Last week 2days after the first jab,I was at work (daughter was home) Rosie (my pooch) peed all over my bed, emptied the kitchen bin all over the kitchen floor, pooed on the kitchen floor. When I showed it to her and said "what's this, what have you done" she just wagged her tail at me like nothing had happened, bless her. Normally she would put her head down and sulk and go to her bed,but this time it's like she was proud of what she had done or had no recollection of it. I want what's best for her and to make her comfortable but at what cost? My last dog was exactly the same. Started on metacam but made no difference so went on to injections and it changed him so much! I had to make that awful decision to have him PTS because I couldn't control him. When I told the vet about his strange behaviour she said I would really like to tell you that it's going to get better but it's not,it's only going to get worse. Heartbreaking. I really do not want Rosie to suffer the same fate. Rosie can't use metacam because of an anomaly on her liver. She's been on yumove for around 4years which makes no difference either. What other meds are suggested or have you guys tried to help with pain but also keep your pooch sain.

My dog was great on librela I'm sorry it doesn't work for yours.
What yumove are you on? Only the most expensive one only available from the vet, yumove advance 360, made a difference to our dog. And it worked on its own for years.
Galliprant is another newer anti inflammatory which has less impact on their liver.

Do post in All About Dogs Lynette, most forum users ignore the introductions area. Welcome to the forum, I hope you find an answer for Rosie.

Im sorry but I had to reply to this. Your dog was reacting to your body language not to what she had done. She would not have been proud of emptying the bin etc. I cant say if it was related to the injections but remember that its you your dog is reacting to and not any sense of shame etc.

^This^

From reading your post this is not a new behaviour but you felt her reaction was different.

Feedback should be given within 2 seconds.

Admonishment when you return from work is pointless and just leads to confusion and appeasing behaviour.
