New pony arrived 2 weeks ago and earlier this week it became apparent she has lice. ALOT of them.
Her and other pony both had washes with deosect today and her grooming kit has had treatment poured on and it will go in the wash with her fleece rug. I sponged the inside of her turnout rug with fresh solution too.
Aiming to repeat in 2 weeks as directed on the label and if the weather allows she’ll have a bath in between too.
But the thing I can’t find online - do I need to throw all her bedding and start again?
I can find plenty that says lice can live for up to 3 days on surfaces so I’m assuming I do else she’ll just get reinfected or do I turn them out 24/7 for the 3 days (field not really up to it and more rain forecast - again) or will todays deosect wash mean she’ll be sort of immune to them climbing back on?
As other pony has no signs of them and has been washed anyway, am I safe to keep his bed?
TIA.
