Licking wood

Hi, all is well with my new Horse Ruby, she just came into season so is a little grumpy. But today she kept licking her stable, its wooden. She lived out before I got her, there was a lot of logs and bark etc, there are none in my field. Do you think she is doing it as she is lacking something, she is out during the day and on soaked hay at night, no hard feed.

My horse will lick anything, doors, walls, fence posts, gates. If you saw him he's definitely not lacking anything, he positively gleams he looks so well.

My doglet has spent most of his afternoon licking the sofa, no idea why, he'll also lick random bits of carpet, oh well, keeps him happy
