Firstly i apologise for the look of "all the gear and no idea" but i am hoping we will warrant everything soon enough!

Well my local RC had an SJ schooling evening this evening, and having never jumped Major on grass, never taken Major to a show on grass, and well not really having done much showjumping at all i thought i'd chuck us in at the deep end and have a go.

We arrived, and Major went like a cat with it's cackles up and jogged, grunted and bunny hopped his way round. At this point i was about ready to get off and go home :o

But i leaped my way upto the ring, and actually i really enjoyed him. I have learnt that he is fast, and when i don't get on top of him and get him slowed down he goes much too fast and tends to go through the jump rather than over :o

But he is just super fun, and very brave he didn't back off anything. So proud of the baby ex-racehorse, couldn't of asked any more of him on his first go.

lovely photos. he looks like he did really well. I love the first pictur, his eyes tell the story!!
I am hoping one day in the summer i can take my ex racer in a field!!

And never mind the showjumping, is that a canter pirouette you're doing in picture 5? ;) Check out that dressage seat!! (the showjumping does also look fab though!!)

i do love your threads, my boyfriend doesnt get why i spend all my time with my own ginger ex-racer then when i get home i just sit and look at other peoples ginger ex-racers!

This isnt meant in a bad way but I love that you put the not so good photos too, makes me realise its not just charlie that has 'moments'! i think on here people tend to vet their photos and just put the good ones one making me think that everyones horses are perfect (and that mines not!)

DD - you can't beat a nice ginger ex-racer can you :p as for the photos, your right I just put any that are in focus up really :p I don't mind, none of us are perfect and they all have their 'moments'
 
He looks like when he's settled he has a really nice pop in him. I also think he's lovely can't wait for more updates
