I thought i'd update you all on the situation as you were all so helpful.
I am going to turn Major away for the winter, he's been in work a year since i re-started him, he's only 6 and to be honest i think he could do with a break. We went hunting last weekend for the first time and he was super, so that's a good note to end on i think.
And because he is going off to have a break that means Saph can come to work/home. My plan is to work her for the winter and see how we go, at least come spring the weather will be getting better and the days longer. However currently there is no way i'll have the time or indeed energy to keep 2 horses at 2 separate yards both in work.
I went to see her on Sunday and she was really good, popped her over a few fences too and she's absolutely fab. We'll see if she starts rearing once she's in work with me. She seemed quite dull and has lost weight but it's to be expected to an extent.

I'm sure that Major will love his holiday. Please give us some updates of Sapphire's progress, she doesn't look the same horse at the moment (I'm sure you'll sort it no trouble though
