I would never pull a mane. Always used thinning scissors and a razor. Get lots of compliments about the manes and how nice and smart they look. Ive dealt with thin manes, and thick ones.
I wonder if they are like me (human obvs) I have trichotillomania (compulsively pull out hair) definitely not a pain sensation. I wonder what that wiring is likeOur gelding who had to be sedated for clipping adored having his mane pulled . His lower lip would go all droopy and he’d doze off - would happily stand still while it was happening so he really didn’t mind.
hi my boy has little mane so just use it to shorten as necessary. however, i have used it on thicker manes over the years reducing the weight underneath. i have used it for years so don't really think about how i do it. but as i say my connie was super sensitive - to pull his tail you had to stand the other side of the stable door. that was the point at which i decided no more and have used a razor ever since.Interesting! We always use a combination of razor and trimmers to pull tail but would be interested to know how you use that for the mane!
Which comment are you referring to? All blending into onehaving used numbing cream on myself 2 days ago for a tattoo, what has been stated on the thread about the effect it had on the skin is absolutely incorrect (I know it’s not important but thought people should be aware)
