Having a small logistical nightmare today!
I have been 'volunteered' (thanks guys, this is what happens when you go on holiday) to go and work at a show next weekend. This is fine, but my dogsitting arrangements are giving me trouble...
The problem is that I will be needed to drive the van part of the way back. It's about a 9 hour journey altogether. Normally when I go away overnight with work, Henry goes to my parents who live a couple of hours away, and I travel to wherever it is I'm going from there, then return via there so I can collect the car and dog. It means a lot of driving for me, but at least I know that Henry is happy and in familar surroundings.
This time, the van thing means that I'm going to end up in Norfolk, while Henry and the car will be in Leicestershire... I don't normally do events like this so it's not a problem we've come across before!
So please all keep your fingers crossed that a local home boarding service will be able to take him on. Otherwise, I am going to spend the day off in lieu I will get taking four trains from south Norfolk to west Leicestershire, then driving 2.5 hours back ready to have my annual appraisal the next day.... I don't want to put him into kennels because he's a rescue so I think he'll stress - I think he'll think I'm never coming back (yes, I know, I'm soft)
Sorry this is a bit pointless but it's stressing me out and I feel better for venting to you lovely people!
