Technically, Delicia isnt my horse. Shes my mum and dads horse. However, i have always paid 90% of her costs. After mum discussion with my parents, i bought dee today for the grand sum of £1. :)

This might seem trivial to some, but Dad is poorly again and we have had a few family deaths lately that have brought home to me how important family really is to me. Eariler this month after a very frank discusion with everyone, it was decided i would take over 100% of delicia costs. Because of this, and because i wanted more control over my horse, and her closer to home, we handed notice in at our current yard.

Everything has been very busy lately, with Dad being called in for tests and MRI's, it has been a very anxious time in the 'Delicia' household. I decided that with all these medical worries, my parents didnt deserve to be worried about the money side of an illness. So i offered them the current market value, instead, they gave dee to me for the pricely sume of £1. Dee has always been *mine*, but now it is official.

I've no idea what the future holds, but now i never have to worry about losing Delicia. She has been amazing, there have been a few tears into her mane of late (kinda glad no one caught us! lol), but she has been amazing. Has anyone ever noticed how calming horses are when you are upset? They just know. :)

The outcome is very positive for Dad, however till he has his op we are not out of the woods. Dee is healing and sound as a pound (which is a good thing as i am lame), i just hope things continue to improve, because we had a crap last 7 months.

How did dee celebrate this grand event?

Eating.

Congrats on being the owner of the beautiful black beastie and sorry to hear you've had a cr*p time recently - explains a lot ;)

Hope your Dad is ok.

Where are you moving to? Anywhere nice?

Yeah, ive been a bit short tempered. Due to dads illness he cant work, mum is a full time carer to my disabled brother so ive had to work uber hard to help support everyone :).

Moving to a lovely yard 10 mins from home. Was up there today to get everything ready

Thank you everyone. :)

I think Delicia will love it also, she really thrives on a one-to-one close relationship and i feel ive been emotionally neglecting her as ive been so busy. She gets everything she needs, but not cuddles or that 1-2-1 attention she loves.

So sorry to hear about your dad, I can totally understand after nearly losing my dad at the end of last year. I hold it all works out! And fantastic news on your 'new' horse :)
Where abouts are you moving to? I know you were at bedgebury which is only 10 minutes from me and can't say I recognise the new yard?

Happy news that she's yours :D

Hope that your Dad pulls through all safe and well hunny. Will be thinking of him.

I'm sure DD will love her new home and chilling and you'll enjoy leaning on the fence just watching her mooch about :D

Haven't moved yet ;). Move tomorrow.
It's a lovely yard in marden :) lovely and close for me :) x

There is one I know which looks quite similar but it isn't quite Marden so probably not the same place! Does it has the facilities Bedgebury has?

I wish you all the luck with the new place :)

It has the facilities I need :). Indoor stabling 50 acres turnout. Stallion yard an foaling down boxes. Rubber arena with jumps and lovely owners on site x

I am shocked I have never come across it as it would be roughly 5 minutes fro my house! Glad you have found somewhere perfect for you both though, keep us updated on how the move goes! :D

Yes nicnac :)

They are halleys horse feed Alfa gold blox. She loves them. :)

Everything is ready and waiting for her arrival. On cue she has come into season very heavily, so we can now start to plan her insemination x

Glad Dee is feeling better, been seeing your updates on FB, she's such a lovely mare. Are you still riding the grey too?

Yep, still sharing the grey :) Been very lucky to secure my share in him so no time out of the saddle for me. Very happy about this.

Good luck at the new yard, it looks lovely.

Can I ask what the forage blocks are that she is eating?

They are Halleys Feed bloxs. :)
