My boy is now on life long meds for arthritis and sidebone.
I've maxed out on the insurance claim. Does anyone know if I can get ongoing medication costs covered for his issues?
What do you do after a claim has reached its limit? Do you pay for your own meds?
Thanks

Only if you had a policy that specifically covered ongoing treatment unfortunately. Too late once it’s already underway.
Yep, you just have to pay it yourself.
What is he on? Sometimes online with a prescription can work out cheaper.

Thanks. Thought that might be the case. Danilon 2x daily. Have looked at online sites but need to clarify a prescription cost. Will dig out the policy.

Equipalizone is half the price of Danilon, I switched to that and was 75p a sachet as opposed to £1.48 a sachet for danilon which is just the same thing made more palatable. I was cheaper buying a time if treacle and diluting it in water to hide the powder in a splash of that then mixed into the dinner

You need to pay - my horse was on danillon for the last 10 years of his life. Bute is cheaper but he wouldn't eat it. My vet was kind and gave me discount - you can only ask? If not a prescription and buying online will normally be cheaper

I was going to say this. My big lad is on 1-2 per day depending on ground, weather and field antics. It's much cheaper than danilon. I can even get one down my fussy mare prior to the farrier

He also has responded so well to a joint supplement I wish I'd tried one earlier.

I refuse to think about the cost.
