Isn't it funny how things in life work out sometimes.

I mean, I'm not a big hippy in my way of thinking or anything like that, but the way things end up working out is quite scarily coincidental sometimes! For me anyway.

Got thinking earlier and here's just a few little thing's which have worked out for me:

Example A:

Throughout my teenage years, I was utterly OBSESSED with Arko III [NS's showjumper]. Like would watch every single competition he was at on TV etc, have piles of endless doodles and drawings of him and just utterly idolised him. Said one day I'd love to have a foal who was sired by him [completely dreaming obviously!!!!!!!]. Never thought this seriously or anything, just one of them 'if I won the lottery' type ponderings...
Cue 6 years or so later....we get a novice baby in at work who caught our eye and we bought. Hadn't done alot, needed starting over etc. In advert had said 'showjumping lines' but no pedigree.
We wasn't too worried about his pedigree as he looked spot on and was a gelding anyway and we hadn't bought him for solely jumping. He was just our big baby project to work on.
We then lost our HW Tommy and were devastated over that....then the day after that happened, I was giving Splodgy a few cuddles and grooming him when I got a phone call. Boss had out of randomness did a search on his pedgree as we got his passport through....to find out nothing more than his GGrandsire is......yes, you've guessed it....Arko III!!!!!

Example 2:
And then not quite as big as that, but today, we were going hunting and it's new country to us so we never have a clue where we're going and the hunt meets are so vague online....and to make things more complicated, we had been told two completely different places for the meet! We went the wrong way anyway to start with, and then we decided on the one first meet place we were told and decided to head for that village. Missed the turning and couldn't turn round anywhere for about 10 minutes down the road we accidently went down. Stopped at a garage to turn around and go back to the road we missed, and then saw the hound truck go by! So decided to follow that and turned out the meet was at the 2nd place instead...not the first place we'd decided on. So if we hadn't have missed the original turning, we'd have gone to the wrong place and missed hunting all together!

And all sorts of other little things which just happen to just 'work out'.

Anyone else?

Sorry. This a completely random outburst of a post for me lol. I've been hunting for 3 days out of 4 now with 5am starts on each, work, my horse and getting 3 hours of sleep last night and a 5am start this morning again too. I'm rambling senseless things probabyl!!! I should probably shut up and go pay my bed a visit. :p

Indeed I was Nicole!!! Haha I remember bouncing round the yard and ringing up random people just randomly bursting out 'We've got an Arko grandbaby!!! We've got an Arko grandbaby! WE'VE GOT AN ARKO GRANDBABY!!!' and hanging up. My poor mother sadly knew what I was going on about right away and she's not even horsey...she just has Arko III etched in her brain from my teenage years of devotion to him. Bless her!

I'm like you - I don't really think I believe in things like that either, but that's sort of how I ended up with Ron. I was exercising him (and 4 others) for someone, and oneday the guy said flippantly that he could never sell Ron cos no-one would want him. To which I replied that I'd have him. At the time I was horseless, penniless and jobless so was far from looking. About 6 months later (just bringing horses back into work ready for the season), I had a job, a few pennies and had started to look for a horse (but was no longer in contact with the person as we'd both moved). My mum got a call from them asking me to ring, which I did only to find them offering me Ron on first refusal.

Ok so the price was more than I should ahve paid for a fat hunter with no papers, no shoes, no tack, that wouldn't load or jump and couldn't be clipped. But 5 years on he's a totally different horse and I wouldn't change my decision to have bought him.

And secondly.... My old welsh pony went out on loan to a family who found him the next home when their daughter outgrew him... the second family turned out to be cousins of some good friends of my parents. put my mind at rest knowing he was with a super family.
