Sorry if this has already been discussed but my daughters pony has just had ligament snip surgery to treat kissing spine (following full bone scan). She had 9 ligaments cut. At no point did anyone (my vet or the surgeon) suggest that this was a lot but after further research and speaking to friends I can't find any that have had this number. I'm quite worried now and concerned that I might have made the wrong decision.

9? Christ that's a lot. Mine had 5. Please take the rehab very, very slow and steady, her spine will lack stability until you build up supporting muscle. What's done is done, you did what you were advised to do, please don't beat yourself up about it.

Thank you. I'm annoyed with myself that I didn't question the vets more. I just wanted to make sure she had a future that wasn't filled with pain and hopefully with a purpose rather than a field ornament from a young age.

You took the advice of people who were supposed to be experts, you are in no way to blame. Sbloom can point you to some great in hand strengthening exercises if you contact her, it's a "thing"of hers.
