Vet was over this morning to see some of the cows, but as they were running late I asked his opinion on Herc- He knows the horse and his history.
Thing is, in the winter he looked like a hopeless case, he really was not good, but now the ground has dried and some good grass is coming through he is a lot less footsore and a lot more sound behind. He had me walk him and trot him, and chucked me on to have a lap of arena. He says he is looking alot better and happier in the way he moves, and with some superflex and light schooling with regular farrier he will be happy enough.
Poor bugger has suffered all winter, so it is really only fair to keep him on this summer time. Mum's best friend has just lost her cob to colic and needed a companion for her pony, so she has asked if she can have Herc, works for me, she can lunge him and he wont be on rich grass, so looks like herc is going to have a happy summer after all
