So I've gone from having a tidy little 15h cob that will fit in anything to now having a 2year old ID who is already 16h.

I have a 2012 Cheval liberte goldpullman currently...but Cheval have been absolutely no help at all in giving me any information on wether my big girl will fit safely and comfortably in it... My thought is no...
So.. I'm going to be on the lookout for another light weight trailer but with plenty of head room.
Any suggestions? My car can only tow 2.2ton so low unladen weight is important.

Bateson Ascot. I love mine and all horses seem to travel well in it. If you are looking to buy second hand you may struggle to find one though, they don't come up often.

Bateson Ascor or Deauville. Height is the same in both.
Yes indeed, but both have lower internal height than the Cheval Liberte which the OP already has, and appears to have reservations about as she thinks not enough.

Build quality and strength wise though, Bateson blows Cheval Liberte out of the water.

My 16.3hh ID x elephant fits well in my Bateson ascot, but he does prefer it (or any trailer) without partitions to give him more room to balance.

And if it’s any testament to build quality, I got this trailer second hand about 10yrs ago and is still going strong! Ramps have been replaced because of stupid horses smashing them, but actual structure and flooring have had no problems.

sounds like your current setup should be absolutely fine though!

Wow so many helpful replies!!
Thank you all!
I'm having my current trailer serviced and safety checked as it's been out of use for a while.
I'll see if my big baby loads on to it and how she looks and decide from there!
Thanks all ?
