Lightening...

This might have already been brought up earlier today but could not find it. I was VERY shocked to see the horses in the paper that died after being struck by lightening! I think its sick that they showed a picture of it too. But one thing did interest me (sorry if that sounds sick its not meant to) how come those horses had their legs in the air when they were dead?

no idea but it scares the crap out of me! I read a story in a mag when I was abouy 12 about a lady who lost 5 of her horses afer they were hit by lightening, I have 2 stables and 4 horses so I can't bring them all in at the same time, when lightening is forcast or it's been hot in the day and starts to rain later, I bring the to in that have shoes on as I heard the metal shoes atract the lightening..
 
Seems to have been a couple of these incidents happening lately. Pebbly Pepperpot is one of the names I remember. It's never even crossed my mind before, as I'm all for horses living a natural lifestyle. However, I can't imagine how awful I'd feel if it happened to my pony.
