Lights for hay shed

I’m looking to light my hay barn as easily and effectively as possible. It’s only small (big enough for a couple of rounds) and is wooden so easy to fix/screw things into.

I’m thinking something rechargeable or possibly solar if it’s easy enough to fit and fix.

There’s so much choice out there I’ve got a bit befuddled!

Any recommendations?

Decent head torch. Or a hat with a built in torch, You don't have to worry about leaving it on, you always remember to take it home to charge it. And it always lights up whatever it is you want to look at .

The problem with a motion detection is is - how often would the rats/mice set it off?

We’ve got a small solar panel and a couple of led lights activated by a PIR motion detector in our 200 small bale capacity hay barn. Works a great, the light stays on for 5 mins.

Plenty enough light to move a few bales around and open one up.

I’ve got a couple of these. I wasn’t expecting much but this is their second winter and they are still going strong. I have the solar panel outside, under the overhang on the wall, so it’s sheltered and I get plenty long enough light for me to do everything.
