I need to replace the rubber matting on our Equitrek trailer ramp (along with some of the ply underneath)
The ramp is quite large (2100x2200mm) so I would need two of the common ramp mats, they would weigh around 80kg in total which I do not want to add to the ramp, its very well balanced at the moment. Also the ramp is on a side loading equitrek so all that extra weight on one side would not be good for the handling and stability.
The existing matting is approx 3mm thick so pretty lightweight, and has fine grooves across it which makes it easy to sweep clean. (we used to hire a box and the matting was stippled, so dirt and hay stuck to it and was impossible to sweep off) The existing covering doesn't have the moulded in bars that all the common ramp mats seem to have, it has ally strips screws down which I will be re-using. It is thin enough to be delivered on a roll, so anything that comes in slabs will be too thick and heavy.
I was wondering if the covering used was wall matting? As I said, its only maybe 3mm thick, not particularly durable it only suffered when our horse was pratting about when we first got her, now she has learnt to load without a fuss the cuts have not got any worse, its just letting water into the ramp.
I'm in the Brighton - Eastbourne area if anyone knows of local suppliers.
Thanks.
