I have a fal pro lightweight turnout which I reproofed Wednesday as my boy was clipped but found him a bit too toasty in his medium weight. However went up Friday and he was literally soaked, had been non stop rain all night and day, so have had to put medium weight back on. What lightweight rugs actually do the job as a wet rug on his back really isn't going to do him any favours so he is back in the medium for now?

I have the Shires Tempest Lite. One of mine has been wearing his with fill in this constant heavy rain at night & he is always bone dry. I also have them without fill, but do get slightly damp through so go for it with fill. Lovely rugs :)

I've got a fairly cheap amigo 600d lightweight that's always been completely waterproof as long as the horse is warm underneath. I think it works a bit like goretex... Warm air moving outwards and all that

I've been using a premier equine bustino 40g turnout which has stayed totally dry inside and the boy has been warm when he's come in, just that little bit of padding seems to help.

Agree with AMP in regards to rambo, amigo and rhino rugs. I have also got a weatherbeeta rug which I am very impressed with thus far and to be fair its had a battering in recent conditions!

I have Loveson Allpro turnouts for my pony, he has the no fill and the 100g and both are very good, he is never wet under his rug. They are a budget option and wont last forever but so far I am impressed

All I can say is do NOT buy the Masta Zing! I used mine a handful of times and it started leaking. I was very annoyed!
My requisite one has always been good though, as have my Saxons

The best I've found are the older style 1200D Amigo, can't comment on the new style as I don't buy them (think they're too expensive now). New pony has a JHL LW/no fill but can't say I'm massively impressed with it, yet my big horse has a JHL 220g and it's brilliant (both 600D).
