I have Arkmats, they are great. They did swell in the heat and the middle came up, but I just trimmed them a bit more at the edge and they went flat again. They are much softer than rubber mats to walk on, so I’m assuming more comfortable.

I have them in one stable and also in my trailer - they are great. My horses are 14+ barefoot and don't damage them, but I'm not sure how long they would last with a big shod horse.

I bought some interlocking ark mats from eBay about a month ago. They are the thicker ones. They were advertised as seconds/ex demo. When they turned up they were the green ones. I can’t see anything wrong with them and so far they have been great. I have a 15hh barefoot horse. The only thing that I would say is that my stable is approximately 11 1/2ft square so I expected to have to cut some of the mats but in end we didn’t need to so I’m not sure if they are exactly 6x4’. Also I didn’t expect them to be interlocking on all sides from the pictures. It’s fine but bits get stuck in the gaps on the outside edges which is a little annoying.

Didnt you receive any edging strips? That might be why they were sold as seconds. Mine came with these:

I've had my Eva mats for 20 years, they've squashed down a bit in the doorway but otherwise pretty much perfect, not damaged by shoes or my fork.

I would say compare weights between brands and buy heavier ones, thetll still be much lighter than rubber. I recently bought a few more mats and they were about half the weight of my originals, which presumably means less material and more air in them so I expect them to squash down more or be less resilient.

Equimats are really light, and last forever. They are expensive though...managed to get some second hand through a lovely lady on here 😀

We've got Ark eva mats (black ones) and they're great - not cheap but last well and so much easier to manoeuvre than rubber mats

I opted for the thicker ones (34mm?) as the horses are 16hh and 17.2hh

I have EVA mats but laid on hard-core in some field shelters, they have moved a bit and puff up in warm weather. I probably ought to try and 're trim the edges.
I imagine they might be more stable within a conventional stable
