Just looking at different things to do with new horse and thought this would be worth a try always seen it take place at shows but always showing myself don't actually know much about it
Read up some of the rules but still a bit lost
Country shows says I need to be a member.. a member of what?
Lightweight hunter jump size?
Tack and my clothes?
Anything else is important would be fab
Thank you

I would do a few unaff or novice classes before going to county level.
You would need to join the British Show Horse Association to do qualifiers/ county shows.
The classes are not always split into LW/ Hw and jumps will be the same if they are, up to 1m14/ 3ft 9in in old money.

Tack is whatever works for you, ideally a simple snaffle or double with plain flat noseband but pretty much anything is acceptable for workers if the horse goes well in it, jump saddle is fine but a discrete numnah that blends in with horse or saddle is best, all in brown if possible.

You in tweed, shirt and tie, cream jods, long boots, spurs, brown gloves, correct safety headwear no bling on you or the horse. You can use boots for the jumping phase but they must be removed before you go back in.

Yeah of course would look at things at a much lower level first only came across the idea aa was looking a tad the country show schedules for other horse!
Perfect thank you

To do affiliated shows that are qualifiers for the RIHS, you ned to be a member, and the horse needs to be registered with SHB(GB). The horse will also need to be on their basic ID register. It comes to quite a lot of money. If you want to do HOYS qualifiers, then you need to register with the Show horse association, which is less money, but not so many qualifiers.
