I love these two. ALf is 23, and his best girl is 20, but they are both full of beans still! They absolutely adore each other, but won't admit it. She snaps at him whenever he looks at her, and he completely ignores her, as he knows full well that she wouldn't dream of making contact! Best hacking buddies ever

Henry and Lady were like that - unfortunately Lady died two years ago. They loved each other but it was all on her terms. Quite right too!

So lovely, my old pony once refused (as in major planting) to come in one day years ago. I realised after a while of confusion that his little mare bff had barbed wire round both hinds.
Freed her and he willingly came in.
They are so clever

We were at a petrol station and I was in the car waiting for my friend and I could hear squealing from the back so got out and opened the jockey door to tell them off and my mare was reaching over and eating the geldings hay (not sure why his was so much nicer, we have the same hay man) and then getting annoyed at him for being too close to her. Mares eh, who’d have em!

I laughed at this - as she usually has to be made to trot to catch up with him. Doesn't seem to have a problem keeping up when she's allowed to swing at him though!
