Bought one for Mr M one yesterday, to prevent him from eating his stable door frame, it’s the one with the ball that hangs down and has the slots for the little Likits and a normal Likit that is at the top, spent £35.00 all together after buying a multi pack of Lik'ts and the BLOODY OSS is not in the LEAST BIT INTERESTED IN IT!!!:( *breaths*

Hung it so it’s not hanging in mid air (because the beams are too high and the lead is not long enough) plus I wanted it near his doorway so hung it up against the wall, thinking it would encourage him to nuzzle, lick, play ,destroy….what ever without it clonking himself round the head.

I tried rubbing a damp hand onto it to get the flavour and scent onto my palm for him to lick but it’s not like an average salt or mineral lick where it dissolves really easily when moist, so that didn’t work, think I’ll try putting an apple onto it to temp him that way perhaps.

I’m just gutted, I was really excited hoping he’d like his present that his mummy had gone to the effort of spending some of her Birthday vouchers on him from 6 months ago, should of just treated myself with something instead!:D

Anybody else with horses that couldn't give a rats bottom about there Likit Toy? or does it just take a while for them to catch on?

Horses,

Well if you want to sell it, let us know was going to order one, but if you want to sell then I'll buy it off you, then you'll get your bday money back. :)

Don't worry my mare wouldn't touch these one day she tried it now loves them eats them not licks them .

the boy also goes mad,

try rubbing molasses on it ,
apple puree,
try offering it off the role in the palm of your hand etc .
put some sugar beet onto it ..

try with one put the likit into the manger neat then when his feed goes in on top he will have to push it round manger and might get the taste.

i do this with the mineral blocks ( brick ones)

all of mine now like them even tho 2 wouldn't touch them .:D

I bought mine one and it was uninterested in it for the first few weeks. However, now that I think he is truly bored he gives it a good bash around. He hasn't touched the cherry flavoured big likit on it though, so might have to get him another of those. The mint and banana ones that slot into the side of the ball he has some fun with though.

He ate those over the course of two nights, and managed to pull them out and throw them around his stable he likes them on the floor so he can crunch into them with his teeth. One he threw across the stable yard one night :D I just hope it disturb the beauty sleep of his stable mate, he must make a right racket - I can't get the side ones out without the use of a knife! :D
