Likits - surely they are bad for horses...?

JM07 just took the words right out of my mouth, I have never bought one either.

The way I look at it is like this; my mare is a fairly poor doer, so she can spend her time stabled stuffing herself on good quality forage which will actually do her some good, or twisting her neck into unnatural positions to devour what is essentially a big lump of sugar.

Its like letting a child eat sweets all afternoon instead of eating a proper dinner IMO!

I gave one to my horse a few years ago, she ate half of it overnight and then got colic. So a £2.99 Likit cost me a 100 quid for a sunday emergency callout.

I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole now.

Ditto this, horse on our yard ate all in one go and got colic, vet said not isolated incidents and he hated them

I've never bought one but my old share horses owner did once. It was banana and i had a taste first it was YUM! Not sure why he thought it was a good plan though as said horse was a nutter at the best of times and went absolutely off his head and violent off it. He never got one again!
