a very small update tonight just to say, i can officially pick her back feet out with no drama! she’s never tried to kick me, she kicks away from me to get me off, so i’ve done lots of practicing with a rope around her leg to ask her to give to the pressure, and i just thought let’s see what happens if i just don’t let go when she wants me to - turns out, absolutely nothing
i was told she needs bribery when i got her, so i’m assuming the rope/pressure release has actually had some benefit. talk about small victories!
adding in a pretty picture from our first lesson a few days ago - no riding for us until i can get a fitter out to adjust her saddle which is proving difficult!
