Went to Limes Farm yesterday for the BN and the Disc. It was on grass and the course was actually quite inviting.
Senza warmed up really well and was clearing everything by miles. My friend said to try and get her to whack a pole before she goes in but do you think i could . . . . . NO!!!!!!
We went in the BN and she jumped like a little star, felt like she was really giving them room. We came up to the first double though and she ballooned the first part as it was an oxer which didn't leave us much room for the next part and we just caught it with her back legs but she flew the rest of the course fine. I was really pleased with her and started to wonder why she couldn't jump like that all the time LOL.
Anyway the discovery came and by this time she knew what was expected of her and she was jogging on the spot, spinning round and just being a little nutter. I tried keeping her calm but she was just soooo excited. Again she warmed up brilliantly. We even jumped the biggest oxer we have ever jumped (it was massive for us) and she cleared it with another 2 foot to spare. I was so pleased with her as 2 weeks ago she wouldn't jump 2'6!!!!!!
Anyway we went into the Disc she jumped No1 and No2 perfect came round to No3 which was at one end of the arena and No4 was at the other, i knew i was gonna have a slight conrol issue. We galloped into No3 which came down and i had no control AT ALL as we galloped flat out into No4 which also came down (i was literally leaning back and pulling as hard as i could). Anyway after that little burst of excitment she came back to me and we jumped the rest really nicely so i was a bit gutted about that but she really pleased with her.
So all in all a good day really and i came away with a big smile on my face. I could tell that Senza was thoroughly enjoying herself too which made me really happy as she has been so unhappy jumping lately so hopefully her confidence will start to grow again now and in the meantime i need to find some brakes LOL.
