i went on Friday to do the OPN as my first event of the season.

i did an alright dressage getting 36.5 it was just a bit of a boring test. but i am pleased that i didnt get a 60's dressage like two people in my section...poor them!

I then went clear showjumping and was really pleased although the warmup was manic as there were about 20 people that all came at one time somone came 25 mins before their time to go! But i was thrilled with my horse

I was wearing my new xc colours which i got for my birthday and someone told me i should tread in them before xc

so i duly did. we went clear though well inside the time and i was really happy and we came 5th!! wooo

never heard of the 'treading in' of new things, perhpas thats why i don't have much luck.!! i have stored it in my memory for future reference..
 
Brilliant result, well done you. I think you definitely got the best of the weather; it's normally always like it was yesterday, horizontal rain and gale force winds!

I'm ever so superstitious about new things and have to get them mucky before I use them in a competition - it's silly really.

,you deffinatly got the best of the ground for the showjumping was horrid on the sunday, friend had a bad fall going round the corner into the last in OI

Would have quite liked to have seen the 60s tests - I wonder quite what you would have to do to manage that!!
