We’re going to be staying near Horncastle in the Lincolnshire Wolds for the weekend. My husband is doing a long bike ride on one day so I was planning on taking the dogs for a good long walk while he’s off cycling. Any recommendations for some good dog walking routes would be great. One of the dogs is not great around livestock so places where she won’t have to be on the lead the entire time are preferable. Thank you!

Shame I’ve only just seen this! There’s lots of places in the wolds! I’m not sure about very near to horncastle but if you specifically want a spot to let your dog off lead (and socialise with other dogs) Westgate Fields in Louth is a good start. By no means rural but nice for a bimble and you can then walk onto Hubbards Hills.

Frim what I can remember, a lot of the bridle ways and footpaths tend to be around fields so as long as your dog stays near they’re not bad for off - lead.

I’m having a brain fart of thinking of anywhere else but I hoped this helped, albeit maybe too late!
