I want a 50g liner for my Horseware rug, but they don't make one.

Has anyone used a different brand 50g liner with their Horseware rug? Derby House, Premier Equine etc?

I've used Swish and PE liners in my Horseware rugs. I just use the back clips now and don't worry about doing the velcro straps at the front.

I think you could use just about any liner.

I use any liner with any rug or just stable rugs, never attach them. This comes from the days of the Horseware duvet liners, they were just a white cotton duvet cut into a rug shape with a only a chest strap & fillet string, no other straps or attachments and they never moved. The only thing to remember if using under turnout rugs is your liner must be smaller than the top rug otherwise it will soak up the wet.

I use any quilt. Mine are usually home made. I make the depth shorter than a stable rug.

I ‘fix’ them together in 2 places.
First by clipping the rugs together at the back D’s with the fillet string. Sometimes bale string is needed to bring the fillet string level.
Also stitch a loop of strong tape above and below the front neck fastening on the under rug. Fasten the turnout fastening through this loop. This holds the rugs together.

I find the only attachmenst that matter are those to the fillet string D's near the tail. Without those, the liner can slide to one side far enough to be trodden on, and then its game over :( ( I know this because I forgot once. Only once!).

The shoulder or wither area velcro tabs make no difference.

I use a vairety of brands, and even use 6'6" liners under 6'3" rugs and vice versa. If it hangs out a bit it might get damp, but it doesn't take long to dry, and doesn't make the rest of the rug damp.
