Lion riding terrified horse in Chinese Show

Despicable for all animals involved - makes you wonder how much cruelty is involved in making both those animals do what they are doing. In fact, no, I can safely say I don't wonder, I think I actually know the level of abuse which must take place.
 
It must weigh a tonne!!!! That is despicable but all in the name of tourism.... if punters stopped paying to watch it, it wouldn't happen.
 
It never ceases to amaze me how animals are treated in the name of entertainment. Ditto all who say if tourists didn't want to watch it, it would soon be stopped

It probably wouldn't matter if tourists boycotted it - they'd get enough locals to make it 'worthwhile'! We ARE talking about China where human rights are trampled in the dirt on a daily basis - animals stand NO chance!:mad:

It's just hideous. Why would anyone want to see this or even think of doing it? Wrong on so many levels
 
I am strongly against animals being used as entertainment for humans when it has a determental effect on their wellbeing.

This example is one of many I'm afraid. If people stop attending, it would stop. However it's a very difficult thing to do. One good example is dolphins/orcas kept in captivity, they say it's educational... But people will still attend the aquariums, *sign* very very sad fact of life :(
 
The chinese there human rights, enviromental and animal violations there increasing economic dominance is truly terifing, vile people who have very diferent values, not nice to think what they will acheive in the coming years ,
 
Hang on... back up a minute. Before we wipe out an entire race of human beings... why don't we add the Japs (for whale-eating), the africans (for genocide), the Koreans (for tiger willy-eating), some Caucasians (for fur wearing) and how about a few Americans (for child slavery)???

Lets get things into perspective. This IS most horrid but as is often proved education is the way forward. Not blame. I'm surprised at you Andy for such racist comments.

Having seen the film upset me, and the frustration of years of listening how endangered species end up in jars in the Far East and China got to me for a minute.
It was a stupid thing to say and I am sorry for it.

Blah Blah Blah !!! we have condemed these practices now we are discusing another
animal abuse case!!! so its racist to critisise another races attitude to aninmal welfare what is wrong with that ??? we would all be better off if there was less pussy footing around and we called a spade a spade, and stood up for our values oh and I think andy's coment was just a little tongue in cheek:D ...

On a serious note - why dont we do something about whats happening in the uk - these wind farms are killing hundreds of migrating birds - the energy used to create them will never be harvested - a great big uk con. Circus acts - weve all seen the plight of poor Annie.

Why are we allowing live export again - why are we bowing down to pressure to allow animals to be killed when they are not stunned - a suposidly EU directive.....?

How many of you eat veal, frai grais (sorry to early to spell) - how many of you will holiday in spain or portugal?

Look at the rain forests and the plight of the orangatangs - this is all done on the backing of so called educated nations.

As for the chinese - I bet many of the poor soles would love to be treated like the animals - women are forced by the state to have abortions out there - and that brings me to another point - start looking at your high street - one of the larger supermarkets sells live animals in there foreign stores - so people can kill them fresh - now a bit of boycotting over here in the UK - that may make them stop and think - but as usual the great UK only ever bleat about what is wrong - I just wish we had the strength of character of the French - and actually protested properly again -but thats a whole new argument.

Stop using animals for entertainment you say? I'd include horse riding in the using animals for entertainment category - it's not natural for anything to ride a horse whether it's big cats or humans so maybe we should all give up riding as a stand against using animals for entertainment.

As for calling a spade a spade... I guess you walk up to black people calling them spades do you? Because THAT is what it really means.

It's not racist to criticise but Andy, and I'm sure he may be right in some peoples eyes, was racist in his comment.

Wiping out some Chinese folk will not help. You need to think about what you have just said to me and maybe act on it a little more instead of mouthing off on a forum. Get off your arse and stop pussy footing around then and go and make the world a better place. Why don't you come and join me on my campaign to stop Malaysia wiping out it's rainforest and planting Palm Oil for WESTERN use.

contacted the chinese embassy, No 10, and WHW.

Any stand is better than none. We have to keep chipping away at animal (and child) abuse as it gets reported. :(
