Hi everyone thinking of buying a 3 year old Lipizzaner x Tb looking to see if anyone has experience in the Lipizzaner will be looking to do dressage have an older TB just now who is just great any advice welcome as not a breed I know Too much about thanks in advance

Lipizzaners are used by the Spanish Riding School so should have a propensity for dressage but as always depends on the horse. I've always put Lipizzaners in the same group as Lusitanos and Andalucians and I would love to own one given that I have the other two!

I have a pure bred Lip, love her to bits, she does have a natural flair for dressage but that doesn't make it easy by any stretch, they are incredibly loyal once you have gained their trust, and will work their socks off for you. They can be a bit like marmite you either love them or hate them. They generally have very good feet, and you may find you don't need them shod, my girl is shod only in front, but could probably go without. They live off fresh air, and can run to fat very easily.

Sound exactly like Lusitanos and Andalucians :-D

They are very similar I believe, the main difference is that you cannot have a Lip registered or compete in the Iberian classes as theyre a breed all of their own. They do lend themselves to many disciplines other than dressage, my girl has a natural flair for jumping as well, just need to find the control to go with it :)
