Hi,

Has anybody got any experience/had any sucess using Liquid Devils Claw (Or any other supplements of that matter!) in place of Bute? Does it actually work?

I used liquid devils claw for my mare it was very good. She had a locking patella joint. Not sure if it works for everything but you could always try it. What do you want to use it to treat?

Used it on the dogs and horses, great for long term pain management. Only had sucess with it with relativly low grade pain but it works great, if it gets worse, sorry but i've had to go back to more traditional medicine.

We have used it for our cob for several years now. We started with No Bute and it did work, but then changed to Bute Free (I think, the Gold Label one) It also contains Yucca and MSM and the difference was amazing. I'd highly recommend it.

Our cob is a chronic arthritic, and it helps him so much he can work again with no problems.

just ordered some for our aging mare.....she is on 1 x bute daily and doesnt seem to need it every day, so thought i would try everyother day with bute x no bute and try and halve her intake of drugs in a year....will let you know if it works!!

Used to use devils claw long term for arthritic pony, effects did seem to grow less - but perhaps he got worse. Finally moved on to 1/2 sachet of bute x 2 per day, but would always use devils claw in preference to bute for mild discomfort.
Consider homeopathic remedies for long term joint/soft tissue issues. Used Rhus tox. 30c 1 tablet 2x day for 13 years to alleviate a sticky stifle joint. Also Ruta Grav is good where horse is worse for exercise, and Arnica brilliant immediatly after a shock/fall/injury but also works a day later to reduce bruising etc.
Always see the vet if there is a new undiagnosed symptom of pain.
