Taking my mare to the vets practice tomorrow to get her marble removed (its about an hour away) but I haven't travelled her out of the village for over 7 years and am trying to make a list of things I need, so far I've got:
Passport and payment for my mate who's taking her in her box (she's a self employeed groom/transporter so she's fully insured)
Payment for the vet
Soaked haynet plus spare
Leather headcollar, lead rope plus spare, poll guard, tail bandage, over reach boots (not happy in travel boots as very thick feather)
Well stocked horse first aid kit
Her dinner and breakfast in case she has to stay over
Bridle just in case I need any extra control - she's a strong beggar
Turn out rug in case we have to borrow a field whilst waiting for mate to return with the box
Shall pop some of her bedding in the box tomorrow so it doesn't smell so odd to her
Fuel in my car as I'm following the box then staying at the vets
Loaded baccy tin in case I get worried

Can you think of anything I've forgotten??

I always have a lunge line on the lorry too, just in case we break down or something and I have to unload on a busy road, or if one will not load as I would wish to come home.

Drinks for you, water, or a flask? Food, crisps and breakfast bar etc.

Bucket for horse water, using your own is less of a disease risk.

Mobile phone so you can amuse yourself if you have to wait.

Warm jacket as if you don't it will be sure to chuck it down!

Good luck tomorrow :)
