So on the 1.9.24 I had a brand new saddle fitted by a recommended saddle fitter- it was for the new boy and I had it fitted in the area he was brought from as I could not get my usual fitter out until end of the month.

Well, how wrong can one be - fortunately I just knew something was not right, I thought it was the new horse, new yard syndrome and trying it on, but he was grumpy to tack up and would not stand at the mounting block and did take off on 2 occasions.

Today my normal fitter came out and he was not impressed. Horse has gone up 2 sizes, a lot of stuffing has been taken out of the one side and some put in the other and he has told me to get a straight cut girth not one of these prolite that is putting enormous pressure in a tiny area and for no need at all - he has an almost perfect girth groove.

I am actually lucky that the new boy is such a sweetheart, and he is only 4 - a less tolerant horse would have had me off by now.

Just shows if you think it is wrong it probably is
